Our client is looking for a Senior Discipline Engineer with Civils/Structural. This is within the Rail Industry. Rate:- Negotiable. Location:- London. Start Date:- ASAP. Closing Date: OngoingRole and responsibilities:
To deliver professional structural engineering services oneself or through others and consultants To manage external contracts for the provision of services
To prepare and deliver interpretive reports for outward transmission to the client via the Line or Project Manager.
Key Accountabilities:
Undertake Structural surveys and prepare reports and specifications for remedial works, to budget and programme.
Prepare designs, assurance evidence, calculations, reports and specification for works
Manage supplier contracts and ensure required services are provided to budget and programme schedule.
Prepare and issue technical briefs to service suppliers for professional engineering services.
Prepare period performance reports to the Line Manager.
For yourself and your reports ensure company procedures are followed for all the above.
Conduct and be subject to Audit
Required Skills and Experience:
Preferably Chartered Structural Engineer.
Experience of working within the confines of a Safety Critical, Operational, and customer utilised commercial environment
Knowledge of StaadPro, SuperStress and Microsoft office products
The incumbent needs to be fit enough to work in a difficult and safety critical environment and will need to be able to pass a medical for safety critical staff.

The successful candidates will be working on the structural design of a wide range of infrastructure projects including; stations, platforms, station building and London Underground. The Successful candidates will be Chartered or working towards Chartered status and be able to demonstrate relevant experience of design and consultancy. Experience in railways and knowledge of London Underground projects and procedures or experience of large-scale infrastructure work is essential. Candidates must be able to demonstrate flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills and client facing experience. You must have BEng or MEng in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent is required. The successful candidate will carry out design in reinforced concrete, structural steel and masonary on a variety of rail infrastructure projects. Projects may include Cooling the Tube and various London Underground Projects. The postholder will have the responsibilty for supervising junior staff and will need to work with a minimum of supervision.The successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills and experiences:
Relevant degree (BSc/BEng or MEng with Honours in an engineering subject)
Significant experience of infrastructure projects in railway sector, particularly London Underground
Significant experience of design in reinforced concrete, steel and masonry
Chartered Engineer and/or Member of relevant professional institution.
Able to brief and supervise a junior team.and design.
